Salif Keita – Full Concert | Live at Jazz à Vienne Festival
The story of Salif Keita is that of a long struggle. Chased away from his village when he was very young, the musician set up a foundation for albinos and got involved in politics in his native country, devoting his whole life to defending the right to be different – a right he was long denied. Salif Keita is now 70, and after a 50-year career that has made him one of the most famous African musicians in the world, in 2018, he released the album Un Autre Blanc (literally “another white person”), which he has described as his very last. The fabled “nightingale from Mali” has not given up on performing live, although you seldom see him in festival line-ups. Filmed on the opening night of the 2021 edition of the Jazz à Vienne festival, Salif Keita’s concert at the Théâtre Antique of Vienne has been broadcasted exclusively on Qwest TV : don’t miss this one-off opportunity to see this giant of African music live!
