Phelimuncasi – Boiler Room: Durban

Gqom came out of Durban over a decade ago, when producers channeled Zulu traditions and a long legacy of South African electronic music into a new musical movement that soon became global.

Today it feels as fresh and relevant as ever, with new mutations from iDombolo, isqinsi and sgubhu to the harder and darker edges of uThayela and ghost gqom.
